Chef Matías Salvia's culinary concept serves a sensory experience with the essence of Menorca using local ingredients.
Faustino Gran has created something exceptional for guests at Relais & Châteaux by paying attention to even the smallest details in the rooms, gardens, pools, décor, service, boat and countryside tours, and dining alternatives. One of Menorca's best-kept secrets is its cuisine, and Chef Matías Salvia has taken it upon himself to introduce diners to it at Restaurante Faustino.
The flavour of authentic Menorca
The restaurant results from a joint project between local farmers and Ciutadella fishermen. This partnership has built a concept that showcases seasonal vegetarian ingredients to make fresh, healthy dishes using vegetables from the island's fields.
Prawns and some fish are sourced from Marenova del Sud, thanks to Paco and Richard. The rest of the seafood is obtained from other fishermen. The delicious vegetables are from Verdures Marquès n Son Juaneda de Dalt, thanks to Miquel Marqués Truyol and Caro. The top-quality eggs we use are supplied by Lito Bosch at Huerta de Binibó. Fresh herbs and vegetables are obtained from Antoine Philipon at Casa de Pau. Embotits Raima, a long-standing local business with an artisanal background and exquisite products, provides Menorcan Vermella beef and chicken.
Creativity for the eyes
Our chef uses his creative genius to design innovative dishes that amaze diners and win over their sense of sight. Another visually appealing aspect is the restaurant's location: Can Faustino courtyard. The golden sunset hues transform this space into a magical garden that gives Menorcan nights a sense of peace and calmness. It is a true luxury to feast on the à la carte creations or the tasting menu that takes diners on a journey through Menorca's best cuisine in this gorgeous spot. The restaurant is also a treat for the sense of smell.
Music that captivates our ears
The melodies played by our piano add the perfect touch to this 360º experience. Unwinding to the sound of soft tunes whilst sipping on one of our many wines or cocktails is the ideal way to end an unforgettable evening that guests will likely remember as one of their best experiences at Faustino Gran and in Menorca.
A tasting menu that combines the five senses
The best way to fully experience Restaurante Faustino is by ordering the Tasting Menu. A journey through Menorca's cuisine in the form of five courses, a shot of traditional gin and a dessert of your choice: five dishes that combine prawns, whitefish ceviche, Menorcan cheese, fish supreme and slow-cooked suckling pig followed by a grand finale that intertwines gin from the island with hints of chocolate or citrus in the two desserts to choose from. It is a delicacy that conquers the five senses, perfect for sharing with your other half or friends.
