Our collection of unique facilities on Menorca is being expanded with the addition of a new Relais & Châteaux in the south of the island.
Almost like works of art or jewels that have been added to our collection — which will be ten years old this year. We are about to celebrate a decade of our love affair with Menorca, with its turquoise waters, its ports and old fortresses, its horses and its people, its natural scenery, and its agricultural tradition.
Ten years of luxury in Menorca
Can Faustino palace, in the historic heart of Ciutadella, became the island’s first Relais & Châteaux, and the Mare e Terra Group’s first acquisition. Can Bisbe and Can Sebastià are the two neighbouring palaces that currently form part of the Faustino Gran heritage collection, a benchmark for luxury, with 56 guest rooms and suites that make up this immersive experience of historic sites.
Casa de Pau was added to the project, to offer a quiet sanctuary in the midst of nature, just a few kilometres from the bustle of Ciutadella. A Menorcan garden where guests can practise yoga, enjoy organic produce or relax in the swimming pool.
And from the Menorcan countryside to the high seas, to sail in one of the three classic yachts in the Mare e Terra fleet. Heloise, Ciutadella and Hermine are the vessels we place at the disposal of our guests so that they can discover Menorca from the sea. We organise private excursions with skipper included, so that you can enjoy the finest views of our island, its coves, its sands and the beautiful colour of its waters.
Cap Menorca, the second in the Relais & Châteaux collection
May 2024 will see the launch of the new addition to the Mare e Terra collection: Cap Menorca. We began this project 9 years ago, a unique experience in a privileged, almost mystical location: the secret Cala Llucalari beach in the south of Menorca.
A former military base, close to a cliff with views of the Mediterranean, is now home to Cap Menorca’s 15 luxury suites with private garden and swimming pool. Each has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, king-size beds and an outdoor lounge with a Balinese bed and a sun terrace.
Cap Menorca is set in a natural landscape with over 30 hectares of palm, pine and olive trees, and with 1 kilometre of coastline. The public area is a genuine haven of peace, with a fantastic, huge, saltwater swimming pool (unique on the island), and exclusive access to the hidden beach of Cala de Llucalari.
Coming in 2025: passion for horses at Finca Biniatram
Our collection is set to continue growing in 2025. We are already working on a new project: a country estate dedicated to the local equestrian culture in the north of Ciutadella. Mare e Terra is taking forward a new initiative at Finca Biniatram, comprising 15 guest rooms and suites. The facility will offer direct contact with the world of horses, with horse riding along nearby Camí de Cavalls.
We will continue to reveal the secrets of Menorca to our guests, offering a collection of unique luxury experiences in an immersive journey around the island. The Mare e Terra collection continues its romance with Menorca, its countryside, its beaches and its people.
